Charlotte, Asheville, & Prague

We are presently members at Sovereign Grace Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. We love our church. We love corporate worship on the Lord’s Day. We love this community of believers. But we also love (and miss terribly) our family at Covenant Reformed in Asheville where we were members for many years. The funny thing—kind of God’s version of musical chairs—is that our assistant pastor from Sovereign Grace, Sean McCann, was called by Covenant Reformed not quite a year ago to be their senior pastor. And now we are preparing to go to Prague to be part of a mission team whose leader is a close friend of Pastor McCann. Only God can orchestrate these things.

This past weekend, we joyfully packed the car and headed up to the mountains to visit friends and worship at Covenant Reformed on Sunday. We also spoke during the Sunday School hour about our call to Prague and the new Czech Church Plant— DoSlova (Into the Word). God is building His church in Asheville, Charlotte, and Prague and it’s a wonderful privilege for Brian and I to get a glimpse of this in all three places. Jesus said He would build His church and the gates of hell would not prevail against it.

And He is doing just that around the world as only He can do.

Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that He might present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
