One of the great things about missionary assessment is meeting other missionaries that are preparing to leave for the field. During our week in Philadelphia, we met two very special people who God is calling to Guatemala, Rob and Esther Reich. Both Rob, a P.A., and Esther, a nurse, are MKs (missionary kids) who met at *Esperanza, a Christian clinic in North Philadelphia.
Their work in Guatemala will focus on promoting wholistic health through churches and providing medical care to those who don’t have access to primary care services.
Rob flew to Charlotte this week. We had the privilege of spending some time together over dinner where we caught up on our support raising efforts and then prayed for each other.
Another special visitor this week was Jake Hunt, the pastor of the new Czech Church Plant, DoSlova, where we will be serving. Jake and his family have been ministering in Prague for over seven years at Faith Community Church.
Special people. Special week.
*Esperanza’s mission statement: “Compelled by the love of God in Christ Jesus, in cooperation with the Church and others, Esperanza Health Center is a multi-cultural ministry providing holistic healthcare to the Latino and underserved communities of Philadelphia.”
